AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) -- Maine officials say all state firefighters have returned home following a runaway train derailment that killed at least 13 in a Quebec town about 10 miles from the Maine border.

Maine environmental officials repeated Monday that the oil spill and fires in Lac-Megantic, Quebec, weren't affecting the state's air or water.

And the Maine Emergency Management Agency says Canadian officials reported that no additional resources are needed.

In Maine, a dozen protesters in Hermon called for independent inspections of the state's railways as well as a reduction in the number of oil tankers traveling across Maine to a refinery in Saint John, New Brunswick.
